Self-care doesn't need an expensive salon visit. A few good tools and 20 minutes a week can leave you feeling refreshed.
Shower: exfoliate and cleanse
A silicone body scrubber or soft body brush lathers soap well and gently exfoliates. Silicone dries quickly and is easy to keep clean. Use light pressure β your skin should feel fresh, not sore.
Face: the jade roller
After cleansing, apply your moisturiser or serum and roll gently upwards and outwards from the centre of your face. Many people keep the roller in the fridge for a cooling feel. Clean it with mild soap after each use.
Derma rollers β go carefully
Derma rollers have tiny needles, so hygiene is essential. Disinfect before and after every use, never share yours, and avoid broken skin, active acne or irritated areas. If you have a skin condition, talk to a dermatologist before using one.
Feet: smooth and soft
- Soak feet in warm water for 10 minutes.
- Pat dry, then gently use a nano-glass foot file on rough areas.
- Apply a thick moisturiser and wear moisturizing socks overnight.
Hair removal
For an epilator, hair works best at a few millimetres long. Exfoliate the day before, hold the skin taut and start on the lowest speed. Crystal hair removal tools work by gentle circular rubbing β test a small area first.
